The making of COLORBOND® steel

The making of COLORBOND®

COLORBOND® steel is the result of decades of advanced steel making technology. The process starts with a ZINCALUME® steel as the base for the end product’s anti-corrosion characteristic.

We next apply a conversion layer to the steel’s surface for improved adhesion after which we apply a polyester primer. Last comes the topcoat that is baked on to ensure exceptional resistance to chipping, peeling and cracking.

Better still, COLORBOND® steel also incorporates Super Polyester coating technology, ensuring the painted finishes retains its ‘as-new’ look for as long as possible.
